Lufkin, TX | January 22, 2024 — Caddo Sustainable Timberlands, LP (“Caddo”), the largest private timberland owner in Texas, announces the appointment of Andres Mezzano to the role of President.
Andres has over 25 years of domestic and international timberland experience, with a focus on business development, strategic planning, timberland acquisitions, and silviculture investments. Andres also serves as a Board Member of the Louisiana Forestry Association and recently held positions as a Board Member and Executive Committee Member of the Texas Forestry Association. Most recently, Andres was Director of Business Development for Rayonier, where he was employed since 2003.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Andres as Caddo’s new President and are confident that we have found a leader who understands Caddo’s legacy and can continue to sustain and grow the asset,” said Gerrity Lansing, Head of TIG and Interim Chairman of Caddo’s Board of Directors. “Andres’ broad range of experience — matched with his deep knowledge of the region where Caddo operates and the stakeholders we work with — makes him the ideal candidate to continue Caddo’s rich history of timberland and natural resources management through a commitment to stewardship, sustainability, and impact.”
“I am deeply honored that the Board has selected me to lead Caddo as its next President,” said Andres Mezzano. “I look forward to working alongside our outstanding leadership team, employees, and stakeholders to deliver superior returns through Caddo’s premium timberland assets and embrace the transition to the renewable economy.”
Caddo’s outgoing President, John Lock, is retiring but will continue to remain involved with the organization in an advisory capacity.
